Dines, FASLA, is a professor of landscapearchitecture and serves as graduate MLA program director at the Universityof Massachusetts where for over 28 years he has taught courses in siteengineering, structures, design studio, design drawing, design theory,and professional practice. He is the author of three other McGraw-Hillpublications: Landscape Perspective Drawing, the recently releasedTime-Saver Standards for Landscape Construction Details CD, and theSecond Edition of Time-Saver Standards for Landscape Architecture,with Charles W. Harris. He has over 32 years of professional experience,including a 10-year period of work on residential and recreationaldesign projects in Greece. He currently is conducting research in multi-mediaapplications to both professional and academic design and planningpractices, with a special focus on site construction and sustainabledesign. He has a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University,and an MLA degree from Harvard University. His home is in Williamsburg,Massachusetts. Kyle D. Brown is an assistant professor of landscapearchitecture at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Heis coproducer of Time-Saver Standards for Landscape Construction DetailsCD-ROM. He has a B.L.A. from the University of Minnesota, an M.L.A.from the University of Massachusetts, and is a Ph.D. candidate in regionalplanning at the University of Massachusetts.
