Jerzy Morkis, a former editor, weaves these into his experiences as a journalist to provide a glimpse of some of the dramatic and notable events that lie forgotten in the columns of titles that endeavoured to inform, educate and entertain their readers. There are reports of eloping lovers, local tragedies and grisly events that caught the nations interest.
